Agriturismo Cielsereno - The Area
Casole d' Elsa is an, ancient Etruscan structure, which is situated on a hill with a panoramic view.
In the XI and XII century it was strong held by the Bishops of Volterra, who passed away in 1260 under the dominion of the Seines.
Given its stratgitic position, to defend its self from the outside attacks it was necessary to raise two round towers on the eastern side, which still today exist, hence the name of the "walled up Tower".
The Val d' Elsa is situated in the heart of Tuscany, in an extremely strategic position, in proximity of the town of Siena, Florence and Volterra, on the route of the Via Francigena that connects Canterbury in Rome therefore passing just in the zone of the Val d’Elsa Seines moving towards San Gimignano, Poggibonsi, Abbadia Isolates, Monteriggioni, Siena and San Quirico.
It is a countryside one must see for its particular natural beauty.
